Farnan v. Capistrano Valley School District

Protecting our students against teachers who use their classrooms as a platform to continually attack Christianity

Chad Farnan

Chad Farnan is a student at Capistrano Valley High School (CVHS). During his Advanced Placement European History class, his teacher spent a good portion of each class attacking Christianity and other religions. At one point he stated, "... when you put on your Jesus glasses, you can't see the truth." We believe this teacher is clearly violating the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution by expressing hostility towards religion. His actions have created an impossible learning environment for religious students. Our lawsuit seeks to establish precedent that will put teachers across the nation on notice that using their classroom as a platform to attack students' religious beliefs is unconstitutional.

Chad is currently a junior at CVHS. He is an honors student and an active member of the water polo and swim teams. Throughout this process, Chad continues to remain strong and determined to see this lawsuit through to completion so that in the future, high school students know that they can stand up against religious hostility and should not be forced to endure it in silence. On Chad's website (www.chadfarnan.com), he states, "I knew I was going to be persecuted and that it would not be easy. But I also knew, with all my heart, it was the right thing to do."

If your own son or daughter was ostracized at school by a teacher who used class time to ridicule their Christian faith rather than teach, you’d take action. Give the gift of religious liberty by supporting Chad’s case and make Chad’s fight for justice your own.

"Don't let anyone look down on you because
you are young, but set an example
."

Advocates for Faith and Freedom is providing legal assistance at no cost to Chad Farnan. As with most litigation, this case could continue for another several years and as you can imagine, court fees and litigation expenses could easily exceed $100,000. In Chad's case, we are in the midst of fighting a private law firm hired by the School District to defend the teacher and the California Teachers Association. We are 100% self supportive and dependent on your donations in order to fight for religious liberty in the courts!

Make a tax-deductible gift in support of Chad for $50, $100, $500, $1,000, $5,000, or whatever amount God lays upon your heart to give.

To thank you for your generous donation this holiday, we would like to mail you a gift ~ our booklet detailing Chad’s case.
