Dear Ministry Friends:

 

Hopefully our Liberty Match quiz raised your level of awareness as to what is currently going on in California and our nation as a whole.   Last month we informed you of the legislation that was recently passed by Governor Schwarzenegger and the California legislature - specifically Senate Bill 777.    The central issue in this legislation is the redefinition of the term “gender” and how it will be applied to school children through the Education Code.  

 

This month, in order to protect our constitutional rights in California and throughout the country, we have taken the lead and filed a lawsuit against Governor Schwarzenegger.   On behalf of the California Education Committee LLC, a project of California Family Council, Advocates filed a lawsuit challenging the legislation’s constitutionality and seeking an injunction to set aside this legislation in an effort to prevent it from going into effect January 1, 2008.   This will be an intense legal battle!  

 

If we don’t act now, this could happen in our public schools !

 

The impact of this legislation is widespread and affects everyone in every state, especially our children.   To tackle this lawsuit effectively, Advocates must hire additional staff, specifically one new lawyer and a legal assistant.   God has blessed our ministry with cases from across the country, but with limited staff and resources, we need your help to effectively and efficiently carry out such a monumental case.   An individual who possesses strong convictions against this appalling California legislation has approached Advocates with a unique opportunity, and it involves you!   This individual has graciously offered to help with the expenses of this long and costly litigation and will match, dollar per dollar, every donation received up to $50,000!
