Schwarzenegger Redefines Gender in Senate Bill 777
The great American patriot Samuel Adams challenged all of us who inheritedour rights and liberties under the Constitution with this statement: “Ourcontest is not only whether we ourselves are free, but whether there shallbe left to mankind an asylum on earth for civil and religious liberty.”
In October of this year, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed Senate Bill (SB)777 into law. This bill will change the definitionof “gender” and have disastrouseffects in our school system as secular progressivescontinue to indoctrinate our young children with the homosexual agenda. According to this new definition of gender, young people can definetheir gender as whatever they want to be on any given day. That means a boy can entera girls’ locker room and not be punished if he says he identifies himselfas a girl that day.
In addition, teachers will be placed in an impossible position, as they willnot be able to freely “stereotype” their students on the basis of biologicaland God-given gender. All of this is true because California now prohibitsdiscrimination based on one’s chosen gender and sexual orientation in publicschools.

You can see how important it is for us to stand againstthis injustice that the state is trying to force into our schools and to takea stand for the privacy of young students forced to tolerate this mockery. OnNovember 26, 2007, Advocates for Faith and Freedom filed a lawsuit againstthe Governor and this bill in an attempt to reverse the law. Atthe same time, Advocates has taken on 4 other new cases in the last two monthsin order to protect our religious liberty in America . We needyour financial help to move forward with these new cases and to work towardsthe preservation of our nation’s Judeo-Christian heritage.
Victory Against the City of Los Angeles is Realized in GroundBreaking Ceremony
Once again, your work to protect our religious libertyin the courts has born fruit! Like the victory for Elsinore ChristianCenter in July, Westchester Lutheran Church and School is now able to expandits campus, in spite of the discriminatory limitations the City attemptedto impose.
After a two-year battle to obtain permission to upgradetheir school campus, Westchester Lutheran finally broke ground for its newbuildings on December 2, 2007. This achievement is another great victory for Advocates and an incredible dream-come-truefor the students, parents, and faculty of Westchester Lutheran Church and School!
Back in 2005, Westchester Lutheran decided to tear down severalold buildings and expand the campus with newer, more spacious ones that wouldaccommodate its growing population drawn to Christian education. Todo this, they applied for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) from the City of LosAngeles . The City denied their application, and when it finally didapprove the application, it did so only under extremely burdensome conditionsthat ranged from unrealistically limited hours of operations to stringent andimpractical carpool regulations. What was most ridiculous was the City’scondition that this Christian school provide a secular education!
After these unfair burdens were imposed upon Westchester, Advocates stepped in to help. Advocates argued that the limitationswere unconstitutional and violated federal law. In May 2007, a settlementwas reached, and the zoning officials finally permitted the church to expandwithout the oppressive limitations.
Because of your prayers and financial support,Advocates was able to protect the Christian school from these burdensomelimitations, and the school is now growing and flourishing as their newbuildings are now under construction. Praise God for this victoryin the courts and the additional lives that will be touched by this growingministry!
