Meet the Clients!       

Because of your ongoing financial support and prayers, Advocates is able to take cases and do battle in the courts to protect our religious liberty.  These are extremely important cases, and we could not do it without YOU!   Please mail or pledge online your tax-deductible contribution in support of our clients.  As Chad Farnan's case progresses, filing fees and depositions alone, will well exceed $20,000.  On April 26, 2008, several of the clients behind these cases attended a dinner to share their compelling stories and say "thank you".  This unique group of individuals inspired and encouraged everyone that evening.  If you were not able to attend, here's a brief recap:

Chad Farnan ~ A sophomore high school student from Capistrano Valley H.S. filed a lawsuit challenging the unconstitutional and highly inappropriate statements made by his teacher in his European History classroom.  The teacher repeatedly made disparaging and religiously intolerant remarks about Christians and traditional Christian viewpoints during class.   "I am a strong Christian believer who could no longer tolerate the teacher's  anti-Christian sentiments.  I believe that when Advocates shows up, God does the work." 

Christine Brody ~ A fertility doctor dedicated to her patients refused on religious grounds to perform a medical procedure for a patient because of the patient's marital status.  Dr. Brody is the defendant in the case.  "All I want to do is be able to practice medicine without violating the religious beliefs that define me.  I believe every faith based case that Advocates defends is a chance to glorify God."

Ron Prentice ~ California Family Council CEO and member of the California Education Committee, Plaintiff in the SB 777 lawsuit, the bill that says you are what you think you are or claim to be regardless of your anatomical make-up.  This law became effective January, 2008.  "Advocates for Faith and Freedom uses biblical truth, legal expertise, and strategic skill to successfully confront issues that directly conflict with our religious liberties."

Pastor Derek Anunciation - In a lawsuit filed on behalf of Praise Christian Center, Pastor Derek struggled with the City of Huntington Beach when it imposed arbitrary and burdensome conditions in an attempt to prevent the church from occupying a building for its weekly services.  "Without Advocates, there would be no way to continue to take a stand against the discrimination by the City of Huntington Beach.  Advocates is on the frontlines of the battle for religious rights in America, and I'm grateful for such called and anointed attorneys."

TRUTH UNDER FIRE

In the Bible when Jesus was tried before Pontius Pilate, He was asked if He claimed to be the King of the Jews.  Jesus responded that He came into the world to bear witness to the truth.  "Everyone who is of the truth," He proclaimed, "hears my voice." Then Pilate asked the question that has echoed through the ages:  "What is truth?"

America's founding fathers had no doubt about their response to that question when they wrote, "We hold these truths to be self evident - that all men are created equal.  That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights."

Until the start of the 20^th century, America expressed little self-doubt about faith-based truth.  However, since the start of this new century, truth has been under fire.  In court case after court case, postmodernists cry "what's true for you is not necessarily true for me."

Christianity has always maintained that the Bible provides foundational truths for every aspect of life - truth that leads to moral order.  As America experimented with these truths over the years, the last century produced a "do it yourself" truth that has led our country to moral confusion, chaos, and disorder.

Jaw dropping percentages of sexual activity among our children, drug and alcohol addiction, a never ending stream of pornography, broken homes and families, unprecedented violence in our schools and neighborhoods, abortion on demand, and mainstreaming of the homosexual lifestyle have ALL gained a foothold in America today.  Why?  Little by little, case by case, the American court rulings of the 20^th century led us down a path that deviated from truth.
